A truck driver living in Australia was shocked by a toll company that he lost consciousness. In the name of toll tax, gradually 57 thousand dollars i.e. about 43 lakh rupees were deducted from his account. The only mistake he made was crossing a toll road in New South Wales. Once the transport agency collected a toll of about Rs 13 lakh from that person.
Refusal to refund company account
Every time around Rs 75,000 was deducted from Sydney’s truck driver Jason Clinton’s account. In this way, he has got a total setback of 57 thousand dollars (43 lakh rupees). When Jess asked the transportation agency for a refund for the mistake, the company refused to give her a refund in the account. The state transportation and road agency said they would refund Jason’s money via a credit note.
By the time I realized it was too late
Jason is one of the 45,000 e-toll users who were accidentally charged more than the regular charges for using the toll road. Due to the company’s mistake, a large amount was deducted from the account of Jason Clinton in the name of toll tax. When he came to know, he immediately closed his toll account, but by then he had suffered a major setback.
‘The company made obscene jokes with me’
Speaking to 2GB Radio Australia, Jason said, “New South Wales and the e-toll have made fun of me. I am completely disappointed. I don’t want the option of a credit note at all. At the same time, Chief Operations of New South Wales Transport Officer Howard Collins apologized for the incident, adding that the company would refund all drivers who were overpaid.
Road minister apologized and claimed
Roads Minister Natalie Ward also apologized and said that such a mistake should not have been made. He said that when money is deducted from one account, the money should be returned in that account. The minister claimed that New South Wales Transport had returned everyone. He told the people to wait a little, because it may be that the money is taking some time to come due to the delay in reaching the bank.
