Willis Reed Jr was born on June 25, 1942, in Hico, Louisiana, a small hamlet in Lincoln Parish. Willis Sr. and Inell Reed raised him as their only child. Bernice was his hometown. He demonstrated his athletic ability at an early age and began playing basketball at West Side High School in Lillie, Louisiana. He also played for the Grambling State Tigers men’s basketball team at Grambling State University, a historically black college. The reason for death has not yet been revealed.
