According to John Cannon, a Houston Officers Department spokeswoman, “a large group of people was gathering at a party, shots were fired, and police were summoned” around 2:30 a.m. CT. When the police came, one victim was found dead, and two other victims were brought to the hospital in private vehicles with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to Cannon, other witnesses fled the area before officers arrived, and officials are currently looking for them for additional information. At a press conference on Tuesday, Houston Police Chief Troy Finner named the dead victim as Takeoff.
“We know and understand that officers received a call about a shooting in progress this morning at approximately 2:34 a.m.,” Finner said. “Officers responded quickly to the location, which was a downtown business, Billiards Bowling Alley located at 1201 San Jacinto Street, here in the downtown area.”
He went on, saying, “When the officers arrived, they found a deceased male. Takeoff, Kirshnik Ball, has been identified as the guy. He was a member of Atlanta’s Migos rap trio.” “It is with shattered hearts and tremendous regret that we mourn the loss of our beloved brother Kirshnik Khari Ball, better known as Takeoff,” the statement said. “Another life has been taken from our earth by senseless violence and a stray bullet, and we are grieved.” “Please respect his family and friends, as we are all still processing this huge loss,” the label ended in their post.

So yet, neither Quavo nor Offset, another member of the rap trio, has made a public statement. On Tuesday, superstars such as Drake, Kylie Jenner, and others paid their respects. During the Late Late Show, James Corden paid tribute to Takeoff, the group’s youngest member.
“When I was with him, what struck me most was how much he loved music. He wanted it, “Corden said. “Migos basically came into existence because of their love of music.”
What Were Takeoff’s Final Words?
Takeoff gave his final interview just ten days before his death. The rapper discussed his career and the Only Built for Infinity Links album in an interview with REVOLT’s Drink Champs podcast and YouTube series. N.O.R.E., the show’s host, complimented it as their “chance to prove it,” and asked Takeoff whether he felt it was the right time. “Of course. It’s not about my calm and laid-back demeanor. “It’s time to give me my flowers; I don’t want to lay down when I’m not here,” he said. Takeoff and Quavo also addressed their feud with Migos’ third member, Offset, stating that the duo had always wanted to strike off on their own. “It’s basically a bucket list,” Takeoff explained. “I feel like this, my true uncle. We’ve been doing this like we’ve been making music. I’ve always wanted to release a small collaborative album.
