There is a big danger for Android smartphone users. IT security researcher Bitdefender has discovered 35 malware apps on the Google Play Store that can infect a user’s phone. With over 2 million downloads, these apps stand out as the Settings apps.

Once installed on the device, these apps start showing advertisements on the users’ phones. In addition, they also perform functions such as creating shortcuts, showing multiple notifications, and blocking other applications’ windows. The most dangerous part is that these apps can change their name and icon themselves, making them more difficult to find.

Google has removed many of these apps from the Google Play Store. If you are still using any of these apps, delete them from your phone immediately.

According to the report, these malware Android apps have been downloaded on 2 million (20 lakh) devices, with the number of downloads ranging from 10,000 to 100,000. Some of these apps have nearly 100,000 downloads.
