What is needed to make Tomato Chaman?
7-8 pieces of paneer
1 tsp desi ghee
1 pinch asafoetida
cup tomato puree or paste
2 tbsp fennel powder
tsp coriander powder
salt to taste
spoon red chili powder
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
How to make Tomato Chaman
To make Tomato Chaman, first slice the paneer and after applying ghee on the pan, fry the paneer slices lightly and keep them in a separate bowl. Now heat ghee in a wok or kadhai. Add asafoetida and cumin. When it becomes soft, add tomato puree or paste to it. Now add fennel powder, coriander powder, turmeric and red chili powder and mix well. After roasting the spices add salt as per taste.
Then cook the gravy and add finely chopped green coriander. Now put fried or fried pieces of paneer in this gravy. Cook this dish for some time and then serve. You can serve it with roomli roti, naan, tandoori roti, tawa roti, paratha or rice.
