At the age of 15-year-old Tonya started dating 17-year-old Jeff Gillooly in 1986, and the couple married on March 18, 1990. Though they separated in August 1993, Jeff continued to manage Tonya’s skating career, and they reconciled in October, living in a rented Beavercreek chalet together until January 1994.
Harding was married to Michael Smith from 1995 to 1996 before marrying Joseph Price on June 23, 2010. Gordon, the couple’s first child, was born on February 19, 2011.
Tonya helped save the life of 81-year-old Alice Olson in 1996 by conducting mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on the woman, who had fainted at a Portland pub.
Harding was arrested in 2000 after assaulting their boyfriend Darren Silver, and she was convicted a few months later to three days in prison, a 167-day suspended prison sentence, and ten days of community service.
