To Spoof Vineeta Singh’s “Toxic Chemicals,” Namita Thapar of Shark Tank India Says, “Class Laga Di.”
In the most recent episode of Shark Tank India, a former teacher pitched her product and answered the sharks' questions in a very funny way.
In the most recent episode of Shark Tank India, almost every shark was caught by a pitcher. Poonam Kasturi, a former teacher, pitched her brand Daily Dump on the show. All of the sharks, Namita Thapar, Vineeta Singh, Peyush Bansal, Aman Gupta, and Anupam Mittal, were interested in the idea. During the pitch, though, she answered the sharks’ questions with the seriousness of a strict teacher.
Poonam tried to sell her products, which included a compost bin and non-toxic cleaning supplies. When Aman asked her if the bins make homes smelly, Poonam said that this is one of the most common questions she gets and that she tries to avoid selling her products to people who are skeptical. She said that they try to find people who want to work to make the world and kids better. As Poonam and others laughed, Aman covered his face.
Anupam then asked what was wrong with putting wet trash in landfills. “Do you know how much water is in wet waste?” she asked. Anupam said he didn’t know, so she needs to let him know. Vineeta made a joke about Anupam finally not knowing something.
Vineeta was finally the last one to be pulled up. She asked Poonam, as she held a packet of detergent in her hand, if it had the same reetha that is used as a hair product. Poonam said that it was, and that the ingredients in her product were safe. “Kyuki’s toxic chemicals hum ghr pr lekr ate h. Aapko toh pata hi hai…ap usi mein kaam karte hain” (Because we bring poisonous chemicals into our homes—you would know, since that’s where you work),” she said. When Vineeta heard this, she looked sad while the other sharks laughed.
“This feels like a classroom,” Peyush said. Aman said, “It looks like you were a teacher after all.” “Poonam Ji,” Namita said, “when founders come here, they are usually very nervous because the sharks scare them.” Yahan toh aapne har. You took everyone’s class: ekshark ki class leli hai. “You should be proud of that.”
Namita was the one who finally put money into Poonam’s brand. She offered them 30 lakh for 4% of the business and 50 lakh in loans with an interest rate of 10%.
