This small habit of eating reduces the risk of heart attack, you should also improve

Heart failure occurs when the heart is not able to pump blood efficiently as the body demands. Due to which the body does not get the necessary nutrients and oxygen. Heart failure is a chronic disease. It has some special features.

Excess salt in the diet is directly related to heart disease. To avoid heart-related problems, doctors always recommend eating less salt. However, research is still ongoing on how low sodium intake prevents hospitalization or emergencies. A study published in The Lancet found that a low-sodium diet slightly improved the lives of people with heart failure, but did not reduce hospitalizations.

What the study says – In the study, researchers have found that reducing sodium intake benefits people with heart failure. The study was conducted on 800 people and the participants were divided into two groups. All these people had the problem of chronic heart failure. One group was given a low-sodium diet for a few days where they took in less than 1,500 milligrams of sodium per day. At the same time, the people of the other group were given sodium levels according to their area. Both groups were followed for about 12 months.

The researchers found that the low-sodium diet did not reduce the number of hospitalizations, but significantly improved their quality of life. The effect of reducing sodium intake is long-lasting. The researchers suggest that reducing sodium intake alone does not reduce the chances of hospitalization. Therefore heart patients should continue with other medical treatments.
