Let us tell you that despite the sharp trend in foreign markets, the prices of mustard oil and oilseeds registered a fall in the Delhi oilseeds market on Wednesday. Prices of other oilseeds including cottonseed, CPO and palmolein closed at previous levels. Soybean oil prices also corrected on the back of a rally in the Chicago Exchange. At the same time, a drop of Rs 200 per quintal was recorded in the price of gram and mug in Indore’s Sanyogitaganj Anaj Mandi on Wednesday.

Common consumers are being harassed by the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) as many companies have increased the MRP by Rs 20-40, taking advantage of which the retailers are selling edible oil to the consumers at higher rates. Sources said domestic oil is cheaper by Rs 12-13 per kg as compared to imported oil, but due to higher prices, there is less demand in the market. On the other hand, there was no change in CPO and palm oil prices on the Malaysia Exchange amid normal trading.
