Nicolas told the press that Patitz was sick, but he didn’t say anything else. Patitz was in the hot video for George Michael’s 1990 hit song “Freedom!” along with Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, and Cindy Crawford.
Peter Lindbergh took a picture called “White Shirts: Six Supermodels, Malibu,” which showed Turlington, Evangelista, Patitz, Estelle Lefebure, Karen Alexander, and Rachel Williams. Vogue magazine said that Patitz had always seemed different from other supermodels, even though she hung out with some of the best people in her field.
The magazine said, “There was something mysterious about Patitz’s beauty. There was something in the soft oval of her face and the shape of her eyes that spoke of confidence and passion.”
“Patitz’s charm was not that of a wide-eyed virgin, but that of a woman who knew what she wanted,” it said. “She was a force to be reckoned with, having been trained as an actress.” Patitz was born in Hamburg, but when she was young, she moved with her Estonian mother and German father to a small town in Sweden.

In 1983, she got her start as a model when she won a trip to Paris and a short-term job. She later moved to California, where she lives on a ranch near Santa Barbara with her son Jonah. In recent years, she was photographed there with Jonah.
The Lindbergh Foundation’s Twitter account said nice things about Patitz. “We want to praise Tatjana’s kindness, inner beauty, and extraordinary intelligence. She will be missed very much.”
