Meanwhile, on Thursday, Bareilly Development Authority (BDA) bulldozed Samajwadi Party MLA Shahjeel Islam’s petrol pump for making controversial statements against Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. It is being said that the petrol pump was constructed without passing the map.
Only petrol pump machines survived in the operation, the rest were confiscated by bulldozers. A huge police force was deployed at the spot during the operation. The administration also deployed policemen in large numbers along with the police force. Sources said that an investigation has also been started into the ground sealing of the petrol pump.
Bhojipura’s Samajwadi Party MLA Shahjeel Islam made a provocative statement against CM Yogi on 2 April. A case has also been registered against the MLA in this regard. In a function organized at the residence of SP’s district vice president Sanjeev Saxena on Pilibhit bypass, SP MLA Shahjeel Islam said that if Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath insults, he will be shot dead. Not only smoke but bullets will also come out of our guns.
BJP leaders had expressed their displeasure over this matter. The MLA’s statement was found to be inappropriate and there was a demand to register a case. Later, the district in-charge of Hindu Yuva Vahini Anuj Verma complained to SP City Ravindra Singh. SP City had ordered an inquiry to CO II. On the basis of the investigation report of the CO, a case has been registered against MLA Shahjeel Islam, SP District Vice President Sanjeev Saxena and others for disturbing social harmony and making indecent remarks at Baradari police station. The investigation of the case has been handed over to SI Awadhesh Kumar Yadav.
