Selfie First Look: Selfiee is an Adaptation of Driving Licence, a 2019 Malayalam-language Comedy-Drama!!
Selfiee, which is made by Dharma Productions and stars Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi, will open in theatres on February 24. Raj Mehta is in charge of the movie, which also stars Nushratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty.
Fans of Akshay Kumar won’t have to wait much longer now that Selfiee has a release date. The comedy, which was made by Dharma Productions and also stars Emraan Hashmi and Nushrratt Bharuccha, will be in theatres on February 24.
On Sunday, the team released the first look at the movie, which hints that it will be about a “superstar versus a superfan.” On the movie poster, there is a big picture of Akshay and then security officers holding a man. Emraan Hashmi will play a police officer who, presumably, is in charge of the case. Khiladi Kumar shared the poster and wrote on it, “Fans make a star. Fans can also ruin a star’s career. See what happens when a fan turns against his Idol. #Selfiee will be in theatres on February 24th.
Fans were happy to see the first look at the movie and left heartfelt comments on the post. Some of the comments say things like “Can’t wait Akki,” “Can’t wait for this blockbuster movie,” and “Pure fan stuff.” But some of them didn’t seem impressed and even said the movie was a remake of Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan. Others said it was like Ayushmann Khurrana’s last movie, An Action Hero. Akshay had a small role in the same movie, which was interesting.

But readers will know that Selfiee is a remake of the 2019 comedy-drama Driving Licence, which was made in the Malayalam language. Sachy wrote the script for the first Malayalam movie, which was directed by Lal Jr. It was about a famous actor (Prithviraj Sukumaran) who is known for how well he drives but loses his licence. But when he gets into a fight with a motor inspector (Suraj Venjaramoodu) who is a fan of the actor, things get out of hand.
Selfiee will also have a remake of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan’s 1994 song “Main Khiladi Tu Anari,” which was from the same-named movie. Emraan announced the song on his social media accounts in August of last year, saying, “28 years after the original.. The OG khiladi with the new Anari.” This face-off turned into a dance-off. And it was quite a dance-off. (Since then, I haven’t stopped putting ice on my feet.) #selfiee.”
Selfiee will also star Diana Penty. It will be directed by Raj Mehta, who was in Good Newswz. Hiroo Yash Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Supriya Menon, Karan Johar, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Apoorva Mehta, and Listin Stephen all helped to make it.
