He did odd jobs before landing a job as a used vehicle salesperson, which sparked his interest in the auto sector.

McCombs died at home, “surrounded by family who loved and adored him,” according to a statement from the McCombs family, with his death caused by age-related diseases, though no official cause of death was given.
