A pregnant woman gave birth on the platform of Delhi Metro station. A woman constable of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) helps a pregnant woman deliver her baby at the platform of Anand Vihar Metro station in New Delhi on Thursday. It said that CISF constable Anamika Kumari reached the spot on the instructions of the shift in-charge.
A statement said that he, with the help of other female passengers, helped the pregnant woman get on the platform. The woman and her newborn were taken to the hospital by ambulance, the statement said. The mother and her husband thanked the CISF personnel for their prompt response and assistance in the critical time, the statement said. Significantly, the CISF has been entrusted with the security of airports and railway stations across the country.
