Pizza Party in Space, NASA Shares Photos, See “Pizza Night” Celebration

You must have had a lot of pizza parties at home but have you ever seen a pizza party in space? The US space agency National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has shared some similar pictures. NASA astronauts are seen celebrating “Pizza Night” on the International Space Station (ISS).

NASA wrote in the caption, “Views of an orbiting restaurant. Here’s an excerpt from life from the International Space Station (@ISS). The crew members orbit about 250 miles (402 km), though they’ve never been to our Favorites don’t follow traditions. The earth doesn’t go very far like Pizza Night.”

Images attached to the Instagram post include ISS crew members Denis Matveev, Oleg Artemyev, Sergei Korsakov, Kegel Lindgren, Jessica Watkins and Samantha Cristoforetti. One of the crew members, Bob Hines, can also be seen posing with a personalized pizza.

In the third photo, NASA astronaut Jessica Watkins is seen assembling in microgravity on her pizza and laughing. This post of NASA is getting a lot of likes. It garnered 418,539 likes and hundreds of comments on the post. In the caption, NASA said that ISS crew members have the option to choose any favorite dish, even if it is 250 miles (about 402 km) above Earth. The space agency’s Johnson Space Center is responsible for providing them with all possible facilities.

NASA said the food comes from the Space Food Systems Laboratory at the NASA Johnson Space Center and that crew members have access to more than 200 dishes to choose from on a standard menu.
