States have to cooperate with the Center

Government assistance to 70 lakh women
In his address, the Union Minister said that 300 more one stop centers will be set up to help the women affected by violence. On women’s safety, the Union Minister said that there are 704 one stop centers in the country and with the help of women helpline, 70 lakh women have got support from both the central and state governments. Soon more than 300 one stop centers will be opened.

The minister also informed that various projects worth Rs 9,000 crore have been implemented between 2014-21 for the purpose of safety and security of women through the Nirbhaya Fund. Irani, citing an international development report, said that women in India have spent only 150 million working days to bring water to their homes. He said that the ‘Har Ghar Nal Aur Jal’ scheme under the Jal Shakti Mission has helped in providing tap water to 9.33 crore households in the country.
