WhatsApp is the most used. There have been many cases of fraud on WhatsApp, which has caused problems to the users. Now WhatsApp is fixing this problem. WhatsApp is now working on the Double Verification Code feature to secure the entire login process for your account. This will make the app more secure when logged in to the WhatsApp account. This new feature will be available for both Android and iOS users.
According to a report by WhatsApp tracking website WABetaInfo, this feature requires the company to verify a WhatsApp account before logging into more than one device. When you try to log into your WhatsApp on another device after the feature comes, you will get a 6 digit code on the old device. You will need to enter this code on your new device. You will be able to log into WhatsApp on the new device only after the code matches.
The 6 digit code will strengthen the verification process. Whenever you log into WhatsApp from a new phone, a 6 digit automatic code is sent to the registered mobile number to load and backup the chats. This information is used to prevent abuse. There have been many cases of fake login on WhatsApp. The purpose of this double verification code is to strengthen the WhatsApp login process and prevent misuse of personal information and account data.
According to the report, after the introduction of this feature, you will get a notification when you try to log into the old WhatsApp on the new device. It will say ‘This WhatsApp account is already logged in to any device. If you still want to log in to WhatsApp, the code sent on the old device will need to be entered on the new device. This way people will know that someone is trying to log into their account and they will not share any other verification codes to complete the process.
