The central government has linked many schemes with the Aadhar card. The government has also made it mandatory to link PAN card with Aadhaar. Failure to do so will result in the PAN card becoming inactive from next year. Now the central government is planning to link Aadhaar with caste and income certificate.
It can soon be implemented in some states of the country. This will help the government to create an automated verification system. If Aadhaar is linked with caste and income certificate, then the beneficiaries of various schemes will get the benefits and ineligible people will not be able to avail the benefits of the schemes.
These states will start
The distribution of scholarships will be done first by the Central Government in Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana through an automated verification system. The process of linking Aadhaar with caste and income certificate has been completed in these states. With this arrangement, deserving children will be able to get scholarship on time. The decision was taken after a meeting between the secretaries of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It was also suggested in the meeting to completely digitize the scholarship system for SC children post STD. Therefore, now the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has set a target to take this scheme on the ground in the current financial year itself. The Ministry has identified several loopholes in the existing scholarship system. It also happened that the same bank account was linked to 10 and 12 students. The accounting of these accounts is the responsibility of the educational institutions. But now that these accounts have been linked with Aadhaar, the scholarship will reach every student’s account through direct benefit transfer, leaving no room for disruption.
