Kia EV6 Price: Kia’s first electric car to be launched on June 2, price leaked ahead of launch

Kia India is soon going to launch its first electric car in the Indian market, the all-new EV6. Kia will officially announce the prices of the new EV6 on June 2. But before that the price of Kia’s upcoming electric car has been leaked on the internet.

The entry-level RWD variant of the Kia EV6 will cost Rs 65 lakh ex-showroom. While the top-end AWD variant will cost Rs 70 lakh. The recently launched BMW i4 in India is also priced at Rs 70 lakh. It will be interesting to see the sales numbers on the mass-segment brand with this price tag.

Kia will initially sell only 100 units of the new EV6 in the Indian market. However, it is not clear whether this is due to product issues or some other reason. Kia India has months to wait for popular cars like Celtos and Carans. As per the report, there are many customers who have canceled the bookings of the Carence and bought a rival model with lesser waiting period.

Kia will start deliveries of the new EV6 AWD in September 2022. Customers opting for the RWD variant will get the car from December 2022. The new Kia EV6 will be available at 15 dealerships in 12 cities across the country. Customers who book the EV6 now will get the car in about 10 months.

A huge amount will have to be paid if the booking is canceled
However, Kia has started taking bookings for the new EV6 without announcing the price. But if the customer does not like the price, then the customer who cancels the booking will have to pay a huge amount for it.

Kia is charging Rs 3 lakh for booking the EV6. If the customer decides to withdraw the money by canceling the booking, then he will have to pay Rs 50,000 as cancellation charge. Kia claims to have received over 300 bookings for the EV6.

5-star rating
Kia currently sells only ICE (internal combustion engine) cars in the country like Sonnet (Sonnet), Seltos (Seltos), Carnival (Carnival) and Cairns (Cairns). The EV6 will be the company’s 5th car in India. However, it will be the first fully electric car in the company’s Indian portfolio. The company has launched its electric car EV6 in the global market. In the Indian market, the model will be sold through the CBU (Full Built Up) route and will then be assembled at the company’s local plant. Ahead of the launch of the electric car in the country, ANCAP had given a 5-star rating to the EV6 in its most recent crash test.

appearance and design
As for the exterior of the car, the EV6 has a very contemporary design, the main attraction of which is its connecting taillights that protrude from the rear tailgate. The front of the model gets LED headlamps along with a sleek grille located above the huge air dam. The model gets huge 19-inch alloy wheels which enhance its sporty look. The overall layout of the car is quite modern.

battery pack
Globally, the Kia EV6 is already available for sale in the international market. This model is offered internationally in two battery packs which include 58kWh unit and 77.4kWh unit. However, the company is yet to confirm the official configuration of the model for sale in the Indian market.

Specialty
Internationally, the car is offered with two 12.3-inch screens (one unit each for the instrument cluster and infotainment system), a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, as well as pedal shifters for regenerative function. Some other main cabin highlights inside the car include electric sunroof, dual-zone climate control, UV-cut glass, ventilated front seats, drive mode and electric parking brake with auto-hold function. These features and specifications are of the international-spec model. And the EV6 sold in India may have slightly different features.
