Japan’s Nikkei index rises for the fourth day

Japanese stock market index for the Tokyo Stock Exchange Nikkei finished higher for a fourth consecutive session on Tuesday, 13 September 2022.

If you don’t know what is Japan Nikkei then the Nikkei 225, or the Nikkei Stock Average, more commonly called the Nikkei or the Nikkei index, is a stock market index for the Tokyo Stock Exchange. It has been calculated daily by the Nihon Keizai Shimbun newspaper since 1950.

At the closing bell, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average index inclined by 72.52 points, or 0.25%, to 28,614.63. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange added 6.35 points, or 0.32%, to 1,986.57.

After the news come out that the Japanese government’s plan to further ease COVID-19 border controls, the Shares of transport or travel companies continued growing, Japan Airlines gained over 2% and Travel agency H.I.S. added 3.88%.

Investors were keeping an eye on the market ahead of a critical release Tuesday on US consumer prices and news ahead of the Federal Reserve’s interest rate move next week.
