Paytm and PhonePe are the most popular online payment apps in India. Users can easily pay bills and do online transactions with them. Once upon a time platforms like Paytm and PhonePe offered cashback to users for mobile phone recharge. However, now users will be charged more for services like bill payment and mobile number recharge. Because, these platforms have started charging platform fees.
If you recharge mobile with phonepe and paytm, then from now on there will be a charge.
As per a Gadgets Now report, the PhonePe app has a small platform fee for using the app for bill and recharge payments. This fee is inclusive of GST. However, if the mobile recharge is not successful, both the recharge amount paid and the platform fee including GST will be refunded to the user.
How much does this cost?
Both these apps charge different platform fees. If you do mobile recharge of more than Rs 100 from Paytm, then you will have to pay a fee of Re 1. Similarly, from PhonePe Rs. Rs.50 as platform fee on recharge above Rs.50. 1 will be charged. At the same time, recharge above Rs 100 will attract a charge of Rs 2.

Customers who do not want to pay additional charges for their mobile recharge can shift to other payment platforms. These platforms are Google Pay and Amazon Pay. At present, both of them do not charge any facility fee from the users. Let us also tell you that big telecom companies like Airtel, Jio and Vi also provide in-app recharge facility.
