If you also have PAN-Aadhaar card, then read this news: otherwise you will have to pay a fine

Aadhar PAN link deadline is June 30, 2022. Earlier, the deadline was March 31, 2022. However, it was later extended till 30 June 2022 with a fine of ₹ 500. However, if a PAN card holder fails to check his Aadhaar number with his PAN card, he will have to pay a late penalty of ₹1,000 for linking his page with Aadhaar.

what is the rule
According to the newly introduced section 234H of the Income Tax Act (by the Finance Bill in March 2021), failure to link PAN with Aadhaar by March 31 will result in a penalty of up to ₹1,000, but for such PAN cards, file ITR by March 2023. Will work for one more year to claim refund and other IT procedures.

Late fine till the end of June
According to the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) circular, those who link their PAN with the 12-digit UIDAI number after March 31, 2022 but before June 30, 2022, will have to pay a late fee of ₹ 500.

Late fine from 1st July
According to the CBDT circular, those who fail to link their PAN with Aadhaar number by the end of June will have to pay a fine of ₹1,000 for linking their PAN with Aadhaar number. PAN and Aadhaar can be linked after paying the late fee.

If you do not link your PAN with your Aadhaar number then your PAN card may become inoperative. The troubles of PAN card holders will not end here. If PAN is not linked with Aadhaar, you will not be able to invest in mutual funds, stocks, open bank accounts etc. Because it is necessary to show PAN card here. Further, under section 272B of the Income Tax Act, 1961, if you show an invalid PAN card, the Assessing Officer may direct such person to pay a fine of ten thousand rupees.

How to link PAN with support
1]Log on to the official website of Income Tax India
2]Under the Quick Links section, select the option for Support Links. You will be redirected to a new window.
3]Enter your PAN Number Details, Aadhar Card Details, Name and Mobile Number.
4]Select the option ‘I validate my Aadhaar details’ and select ‘Continue’ option.
On your registered mobile number, you will receive a one-time password (OTP). Fill in the blanks on the screen, then click ‘Validate’. After paying the fine, your PAN and support will be linked.
