Toyota is all set to unveil its mid-size SUV codenamed D22 on July 1. According to reports, the new vehicle could be the Toyota Haider SUV, which is being jointly developed by Toyota and Maruti Suzuki. Toyota will also supply this SUV to Maruti Suzuki and later modify it and sell it through Nexa dealerships.
Also codenamed as Maruti is YFG, the new model is expected to be launched soon after the Toyota Haider. It is expected to launch along with Diwali in August-September. The new model will be sold exclusively through the Nexa Premium dealership network. After launch, it will compete with Hyundai’s Creta.
The design of the new Maruti YFG will be different from the Toyota Header. Many parts of the Suzuki A-Cross sold in the European market can be used in this. Maruti’s SUV will come with features like large floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, heads-up display, semi-digital instrument console, 360-degree camera, connected car technology, ventilated front seats and 6 airbags. Reports also suggest that the new SUV could have ADAS features.
