Heavy rain in Meghalaya, 1000 houses destroyed in 47 villages, many homeless people badly damaged, PM Modi constantly updating

The cyclonic storm that hit Meghalaya has damaged over 1000 houses in 47 villages, leaving many people homeless, with the Indian Meteorological Department forecasting heavy rains for the next five days in the country’s northeastern states, including West Bengal. Meanwhile, PM Modi is in touch with Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma and is constantly receiving updates from officials. He assured the Center of all possible help to the state.

A cyclonic storm has wreaked havoc in Meghalaya’s Ri-Bhoi district and incessant rains have made the situation worse. However, so far no casualties have been reported in this storm. Rain is also reported in West Garo Mountains, South West Khasi Mountains and parts of East Jaintia district.
