The Chief Minister’s Flying Squad in association with Udyog Vihar police station has busted a fake call center duping American citizens. A team of police took 149 people into custody late on Wednesday night. After questioning, 17 people were arrested for cheating and under the IT Act. 11 accused have been sent to judicial custody, while six others have been remanded for two days for questioning. The team recovered Rs. Over 22 lakh cash has been seized.
DSP Chief Minister Flying Squad Inderjit Yadav said that he is aware that an illegal call center is running in Udyog Vihar Phase-4. After the raid, the police team caught the accused. Gurugram resident Hansraj, the mastermind of the fraud, is absconding. During its action, the Flying Squad came to know that a scam was going on for the last four months in a three-storey building named Sibis Corp. 47 boys, 14 girls and 31 boys and 16 girls were found working on the third floor. The defendants, along with their calling team, were generating calls and sending voice messages via computer posing as a Microsoft representative, referring to providing technical support to US citizens. Later he took her down and bought her gift cards for 400 to 1000 1,000 and gave them to the supervisor operator. Apart from the salary, they were also given incentive money.
