WhatsApp Windows Native App: If you use WhatsApp on desktop or laptop, then there is good news for you. Actually, WhatsApp has launched a new desktop app for Windows. Earlier, users could only access WhatsApp on desktop-laptop via web-based application on Mac and Windows.
WhatsApp claims that the new app will improve reliability and speed.
The company said that users will continue to receive notifications and messages even when the smartphone is offline. However, the login process will remain the same as that of WhatsApp Web, i.e. the user will have to scan the QR code from the phone to log into the new app. The company said that WhatsApp’s native desktop app for Mac users is currently in development and only the beta version of the app is available.
The new WhatsApp native app is live now
In the FAQ page on WhatsApp’s official website, the instant messaging platform has announced that a new native WhatsApp app for desktop is now available for Windows users. The new native app is currently live, and can be downloaded via Microsoft’s website. Earlier only web based apps were available for Windows and Mac operating systems.
The company said: Reliability and speed will increase
WhatsApp claims that the new Native app for Windows improves reliability and speed. The company said that it has been designed and optimized for desktop operating systems. According to the FAQ page, users will continue to receive notifications and messages even when the handset is offline. The process to log in to the native app for desktop will be similar to that of the web-based app.
Follow these steps to use
When a user downloads the new WhatsApp native app for desktop, they should open the instant messaging app on their smartphone. Next, they need to tap on More option on Android phone and Settings on iPhone model. Next, click on the linked devices to open the QR code scanner, and point it at the QR code displayed on the WhatsApp Native app for desktop.
The WhatsApp Native app for macOS is in the works
As we mentioned, the WhatsApp Native app for macOS is currently under development. The company said users can quickly access and test the app by joining the beta program. Currently, Mac users can access WhatsApp Web on a browser or use the web-based WhatsApp app.
