At least 27 people were killed and 10 others were seriously injured after a three-storey building collapsed on Friday evening near the Matka Metro station in Delhi. The police then broke down window doors for thousands of people in the building and approached the police after taking the injured to a hospital for further treatment. After seven hours of effort, the police brought the whole incident under control.
The police started a two-storey search. Delhi Fire Director Atul said that 27 people have been killed. There was so much stuff in the building that it was very difficult to control it. More than two hundred people have been rescued because the building has given so much. Some have been admitted to the hospital for further treatment and around 100 have been deployed for relief and rescue operations.
The police broke the window with a JCB machine when the building caught fire. After this some people ran and lowered themselves. More than 27 fire tenders reached the spot.
After talking to Delhi Police, it came to know that a massive fire broke out in the three-storey building. It was provided by the company and with the help of the camera it was found that I had started the fire earlier. The owner of the company has been arrested by the police.
Ramnath Kovind has expressed grief over the incident. Also condolences to the families of the deceased. Not only this, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has also paid tribute.
Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the tragic incident and prayed to God for the speedy recovery of the people.
People living around the building said that the space in the building was very less and a large number of people were coming for work.
