For the Upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections in Himachal Pradesh, Election commission of India may announce poll dates in late September during the Navratra.
With the inputs from UNI, There are indications that the Election Commission may announce the election dates later this month, probably on the first Navratra that falls on September 26.
The Elections date is delayed because the state government is busy doling out freebies to the public through the Chief Minister and other ministers in the form of the inauguration of old projects and laying foundation stones for other projects throughout the state.
But the Congress party has been demanding faster announcement of the election dates and enforcement of the Model Code of conduct for the elections.
The reason behind the congress party demanding a faster announcement is because after the announcement BJP Government would be stopped from making any further announcements to woo the voters in their favor.
According to sources, the Congress party has finalized the names of 40 candidates out of 68 seats in the state assembly by sending one name per seat. The final announcement may be made in Delhi on 15 September.
But the BJP Party is still not decided the candidates’ names and may take some time for the announcements.
