The film world witnessed a clash between three big films at the box office on Friday. On the one hand, ‘Vikrant Rona’, starring Kannada superstar Kichha Sudeep and Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez, flopped and flopped the very next day.

However, John Abraham, Disha Patani, Arjun Kapoor and Tara Sutaria starrer ‘Ek Villain Returns’, which released in theaters on July 29, managed to do more than five crore business on its first day. But Kiccha Sudeep’s Hindi version ‘Vikrant Rona’ made Rs 1 crore on its first day.

But the second day collection fell by around 25 percent. A major reason for this is the release of ‘Ek Villain Returns’ on Friday, which dwarfed the show numbers of ‘Vikrant Rona’ and the film collected around Rs 75 lakh on its second day.

As of the second Friday, Shamshera film has done around Rs 50 lakhs on the eighth day.

Villain Returns starring John Abraham, Disha Patani, Tara Sutaria and Arjun Kapoor has managed to collect Rs 6.50 crore on its first day. Directed by Mohit Suri, the film is a sequel to the 2014 superhit film ‘Ek Villain’. So this multistarrer was expected to cross 30 crores on its first day, but it didn’t.

The most awaited movie of Telugu cinema ‘Rama Rao On Duty’ has released in theatres. Ravi Teja, Divyansha Kaushik and Rajisha Vijaya did a business of Rs 5.5 crore on the first day. Trade analysts believe that the film could do well over the weekend.

Naga Chaitanya and Raashi Khanna’s ‘Thank You’ created buzz at the box office. The film has been making less than Rs 1 crore for the past few days and its collection is decreasing day by day. Looks like ‘Thank You’ will prove to be a losing deal for producers and distributors. According to reports, like Acharya, ‘Dhaniyabad’ may also have an OTT premiere soon.
