Creative’s New Noise-Cancelling Earbuds Give You a Reason to Keep Them on All the Time

Typically, noise-canceling wireless earbuds want to isolate you from the outside world, immersing you in a vivid soundstage that brings audio to life; this is not the case with Creative’s latest pair of buds.

The aptly named Sense more Air true wireless earbuds still include active noise cancellation (ANC), which works exactly like the technology found in the best noise-canceling earbuds to block out outside distractions. However, if you need better situational awareness or want to talk without taking the buds out, you can use its Sense more Mode.

Sensemore Mode is similar to the Ambient Mode found in many noise-cancelling headphones and earbuds. Sensemore Mode, on the other hand, amplifies external audio to help users pick up on quieter sounds that they may have missed with a regular Ambient Mode, rather than simply turning ANC off and turning your music down.

If you’re looking for a pair of headphones for your commute, these could be just what you’re looking for, as they’ll allow you to relax with your favorite tunes while also allowing you to stay aware of your surroundings as you take the train, bus, or walk home.

Aside from this useful feature, the Sensmore Air buds appear to be a standard pair of wireless earbuds. They come with a charging case that can charge the buds for up to two hours in 10 minutes and help extend their roughly 10-hour battery life to a maximum of around 35 hours (though using features like Sensmore Mode and ANC will likely reduce these times).

They’re IPX5 certified, which means they’re sweatproof, making them an excellent workout companion and possibly one of the best workout headphones. If your workout routine includes swimming, you’ll want to remove the Sensemorer Air buds first.

They also have touch controls that you can personalize in the Creative app, where you can also adjust the equalizer to create a soundstage that suits your preferences. That being said, we expect the bass performance to be a little lacking, regardless of how much you tweak it – the smaller speakers in earbuds often can’t provide the oomph that’s required for truly chest-pounding audio.

The Sensemore Air buds are reasonably priced, at $79.99 / £64.99 (approximately AU$130) – so even without one of the upcoming Black Friday deals, these could be an affordable yet reliable pair to pick up.

We haven’t had a chance to test the Sensemore Air true wireless earbuds, so we’d recommend doing some additional research before purchasing a pair from Creative’s online store (opens in new tab). However, if you want a solid pair of buds that will allow you to keep a good sense of what’s going on around you at all times, these could be a great choice.
