Covid Variants Seen in 124 International Passengers in Just Eleven Days!!

Official sources have reported that, during the past 11 days, around 124 international visitors to India who were examined at the airport tested positive for COVID-19. Between December 23 and January 3, 19,227 international visitors to India were examined at airports, seaports, and land ports; 124 of them tested positive. It has been reported that 11 distinct Omicron variations were detected in the blood of these individuals.

As a result of the recent uptick in cases in several countries, everyone is on edge again, and Covid-appropriate behaviors like mask use and avoidance of close contact are being stressed. In an effort to find any new variety, India has begun conducting random testing at airports. Additionally, all visitors entering India from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand must have a negative Covid report.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya reviewed the Covid preparations at Safdarjung Hospital in the national capital last month after a statewide mock drill was held at hospitals and healthcare centers.

On December 22, a high-level meeting was held under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership to evaluate the Covid situation in the country and the preparedness of the health system. Less than 200 new cases have been reported each day in India over the past few days.

According to data issued on Thursday by the Union health ministry, the number of active cases of coronavirus in India has dropped to 2,554. This comes as the number of newly reported illnesses rises to 188. According to data that was updated this morning at 8 a.m., the total number of confirmed cases of Covid is 4,46,79,319, and the total number of confirmed deaths is 5,30,710, with three deaths reconciled by Kerala.

The ministry announced that the daily positive rate was 0.10 percent and the weekly rate was 0.12 percent. The national recovery rate has increased to 98.80 percent, while the number of active cases is 0.01 percent of all infections, as reported on the health ministry’s website.

There has been a decrease of 16 cases in the active Covid caseload in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of patients who have recovered from the illness to 4,41,46,055. The case fatality rate is now 1.19 percent.

According to the ministry’s website, a total of 220.12 billion doses of the Covid vaccine had been administered across the country. By September 28, it had hit the 60-million mark; by October 11, it had hit the 70-million; by October 29, it had hit the 80-million; by November 20, it had hit the 90-million; and by December 19, 2020, it had hit the 1-million level.

Two billion lawsuits were filed in India on May 4th, three billion on June 23rd, 2021, and four billion on January 25th, 2019.
