The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on Thursday took cognizance of the incident in which a five-year-old boy and his sister were seriously injured in an attack by stray dogs in Thakurganj area. The court has sent a notice to the state government, municipal commissioner and district magistrate and has sought answers.
The court has ordered the CMO to provide free treatment to the girl who died. Along with this, the VC of KGMU has been directed to treat the girl under her supervision. The court has fixed April 19 for the next hearing in the matter. At the same time, the Human Rights Commission has also sought a response from the district administration, which has taken a tough stand on the matter.
A bench of Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay and Justice Subhash Vidyarthi passed the order taking cognizance of the news published in the newspapers regarding the incident. The court said that what can be more tragic than this, in which innocent lives have been lost and the sister is struggling with death. The court directed Additional Advocate General Kuldeep Pati Tripathi to immediately inform the government and other departments about the seriousness of the court.
