Corona is changing: Central government increases monitoring orders, caution is also necessary

Corona virus is constantly changing its form. Due to this, cases of re-infection have started coming up in many places. Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya had ordered to increase surveillance across the country. On Tuesday, the Health Minister held a meeting with experts on the new XE variant of Corona. Guidance was also given on identification of new variants and intensive monitoring.

National Technical Advisory Group Chairman Dr. N.K. Aurora provided information on the situation in the UK, China and the US, as well as vaccination and precautionary doses. At the same time, Dr. Sujit Kumar Singh, Director, National Center for Disease Control gave additional information about the cases of infection in about five states including Kerala, Mizoram, Delhi and Haryana.

District wise review required daily
The Health Minister said that emphasis should be laid on following the Kovid Vigilance Rules in collaboration with the State Governments. The district wise situation regarding vaccination should be reviewed daily. If districts or states are found to be in danger, efforts should be intensified at the central level also. Actually, the first case of XE strain in the country has been seen in Gujarat. Although a case has been seen in Mumbai even before this, but it has not been confirmed. The WHO found it to be 10 percent more contagious than the BA.2 strain.

Omicron is promoting a new version
NITI Aayog member Dr. VK. Dr. Paul and Director General of Indian Council of Medical Research. Balram Bhargava was also present in the meeting. Meanwhile, the Health Minister said that the Omicron variant of Corona is promoting many new variants. These include the XE and other variants of the XE series. At present, it is not the cause of any serious accident, but caution is needed.

796 cases found in a day
The Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday that 796 new cases were reported in the last one day while 861 cases were reported on Monday. At the same time, 19 people have died of corona. In the last one day, 946 patients have also been discharged. As a result, the number of active patients has now come down to 10,889, the lowest level since 2020. The ministry said that 19 people have died due to infection in the last one day. So far 5,21,710 people have died due to corona in the country.
