CNG-PNG price hike | Inflation is hitting the public, in Maharashtra CNG costs Rs 5 and PNG Rs 4.50

Mumbai. In Maharashtra, the retail price of CNG on Tuesday was Rs. 5 and the price of PNG is Rs. 4.50 per cubic meter was increased. Announcing the hike in CNG and PNG prices, Maharashtra Gas Ltd said that the hike in fuel prices was due to the hike in prices. The increased rates will take effect from midnight on Tuesday.

This is the second increase in their prices in the last one week. Earlier on April 6, the price of CNG was hiked by Rs 7 per kg and PNG by Rs 5 per cubic meter.

Thus, within a week, the price of CNG in Maharashtra has gone up by Rs 12 per kg and PNG by Rs 9.5 per cubic meter. CNG in Mumbai is now Rs. 72 per kg and the PNG used in the kitchen is Rs. 45.50 per cubic meter.

Earlier, the price of CNG in the state was Rs. 7 increased to Rs. 67 per kg, while LPG ‘PNG’ standard is Rs. 5 to Rs. 41 to Rs. Along with this, the cities of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, are also happy to get the benefit of the ‘VAT’ deduction given by the state government.

Significantly, the cost of CNG and PNG will also place a heavy burden on consumers using eco-friendly fuels. Owners of CNG-powered rickshaw-taxis and private vehicles will now see a 12% increase in CNG costs, while consumers using PNG as cooking gas in their homes will now have a 14% increase in monthly expenses. Following the recent price hike, CNG and PNG prices have now reached record highs. (With agency input)
