French carmaker Citroen is all set to launch its second car in India soon. Launched in September last year, the C3 SUV has been being tested on Indian roads for quite some time now. In the latest glimpse, the car is seen without any stickers and it seems to be ready for production. It is expected that this car will compete with many cars like Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Ignis in the Indian market. In a new picture of the car unveiled on social media, all the details about its exterior have been revealed and the car will be the second product from the French manufacturer in India.
In the latest spy shots, the SUV is seen in the shape of a Citroen C3 hatchback without any stickers. The exterior is almost like a cross hatch that is surrounded by a black plastic casing. It looks like a normal micro SUV like the Tata Punch. The front of the C3 gets a sturdy bonnet that comes with the Citroen and LED headlamps are also found here that surround the double-slat grille. The rear of the SUV gets repeat taillights and chunky bumpers, all finished in black plastic.
The Citroen C3 is being built on a modular platform with a wheelbase of 2,540 mm. The company claims that the passengers sitting on the back seat will also get a lot of space. It has a ground clearance of 180 mm, which is slightly less than the Tata Punch. The cabin of the car gets a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The car has 1 liter glovebox and 315 liter bootspace.
The car is expected to be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 130 bhp and the company may offer the engine mated to a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The new C3 may be able to compete with the likes of Tata Punch and Ignis, but will be a bit expensive in terms of pricing. The company is producing it locally, but the car is still going to be expensive.
