Dharm News Nirjala fast started with Kharna on Wednesday, the second day of Chaiti Chhath Puja, the great festival of folk faith. Earlier, after worshiping in the evening, the fasting people broke the fast by consuming sweet prasad. By keeping a waterless fast in Kharna, in the evening, she breaks the fast with sweet rice, puri pudding and sweet rotis. While observing Nirjala fast, the fasting person will offer Ardhya to the setting sun on the third day on Thursday. For this the devotees made full preparations. Devotees also made purchases of worship materials. Due to this, there was hustle and bustle in the market. On the other hand, the organizers of Chhath Puja made arrangements at ponds in different areas of the city to offer Ardhya to Lord Surya. Clean water was filled by cleaning the ponds.

On Wednesday, on Chaiti Chhath, the great festival of name, loyalty, the devotees performed Kharna rituals in the evening. After bathing before sunset, the devotees invoke the worship of deities. After this, the devotees prepared roti from the flour prepared from red wheat. Made kheer from fasting jaggery and rice on a tawa prepared from mango wood on an earthen stove. After worship and havan, the devotees complete the ritual of Kharna. During this, the people of the house took special care not to make any kind of noise. It is believed that if there is any kind of noise during Kharna, fasting devotees do not accept Kharna Prasad.

At the end of Kharna Prasad was distributed among the devotees. The fasting women gave vermilion to the sweethearts who reached home. After this, everyone got the head at the Kharna site and sought blessings from the Vrati. The devotees touched the feet of the fast and wished well for the family. The atmosphere remains devotional on the occasion of Chhath. In the houses where Chhath festival is taking place, the atmosphere of those houses remains even more devotional. The songs of Chhathi Maiya are resonating. In the midst of songs, women made offerings of Kharna. From the city to the village, the atmosphere is resonant with the traditional folk songs of Chhath festival like Bahangiya Bahangi Lachkat Jaye, Darshan Dinhi Na Apna Yeh Chhathi Maiya of Kanchi bamboo.

On the sixth day of Chaitra Shukla Paksha, on Thursday in the evening, fasting devotees will offer the first Arghya to the Sun God. Before offering Arghya, the fasting person will stand in the water and bow to Adidev Bhuvan Bhaskar and wish good luck for the happiness and peace of the family and society. On this occasion, devotees present in large number of ponds will offer Arghya with milk, flowers and water. After offering Arghya, the devotees and the accompanying devotees will return to their respective homes singing the traditional song of Chhathi Maiya. On Friday morning, fasting will offer second Ardhya to the rising Sun God. After offering Ardhya and offering prayers, the four-day festival of Chhath will end.
