Ahead of the harvest season and Baisakhi festival, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi’ and other schemes are giving new impetus to lakhs of farmers in the country. Sharing the details of benefits of various central government schemes for farmers, PM Modi in a tweet on Sunday said that strong farmers are the key to a prosperous nation.
PM Modi said that the country is proud of our farmer brothers and sisters. If the farmers of the country are strong then the new India will be more prosperous. I am happy that Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi and other schemes related to agriculture are giving new impetus to lakhs of farmers of the country.
What did PM Modi say?
In fact, Prime Minister Modi tweeted and said that 11.3 crore farmers across the country have directly benefited from the schemes, along with Rs 1.82 lakh crore has been directly transferred to their accounts. In addition, farmers have received assistance of Rs 6,000 per year under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. While Rs 1.30 lakh crore has been transferred during the Kovid epidemic. Its benefits have reached especially to small farmers.
Kisan Samman Nidhi was announced in 2019
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi was announced in the Interim Union Budget of the Government of India presented by the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal in February 2019. In which all farmers will get a minimum income of up to Rs 6,000 per year as Aadhaar. Meanwhile, a loan of one lakh crore rupees has been provided under the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund for the development of agricultural infrastructure.
Out of this, loans worth Rs 8,585 crore have been sanctioned for 11,632 projects. Apart from this, PM Modi said that 1.73 crore farmers have registered on the e-NAM platform. Which has a turnover of Rs 1.87 lakh crore.
