Bullet train: Construction of bullet train corridor accelerated in Gujarat, 250 pillars being built every month, work on 20 bridges also

Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Gujarat, the construction of the Bullet Train Corridor in the state has gained momentum. At present an average of 200-250 pillars are being constructed every month in the 352 km long Sabarmati-Vapi section of Gujarat. The work of proposed 20 bridges on various rivers is also in full swing. The ministry is taking daily updates of the project.
National High Speed ​​Rail Corridor (NHSRL) Principal Executive Director Pramod Sharma said that out of eight Surat, Vadodara and Ahmedabad high speed stations in Gujarat, the target is to complete the construction by 2024. The official claimed that the remaining stations including Bilimora, Vapi, Anand would be ready by 2026.

A 1.26 km long bridge is being built on the Narmada River on the High Speed ​​Corridor. This will be the longest bridge on this road. Its construction will also be completed in July 2024. A total of 20 bridges are being constructed on the Sabarmati, Dhadhar, Mahi, Damanganga and Tapti rivers of the state.
Pramod Sharma said that the work on the high speed corridor is going on fast after the corona infection subsides. Pillars are being installed to cover 8 to 10 kms of track every month.

Japanese-Chinese technology
Sharma said that a 40-metre long guard is being used to lay the track between Surat-Blimora. Whose weight is one thousand metric tons. With this technology, the track laying speed has increased by 700 times. This technology is only available in select countries, including China and Japan.
Direct connectivity to Indian Railways at these stations
Bullet train stations are being built at Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Sabarmati railway stations. With this, passengers of trains running from UP, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Delhi will be able to reach these three stations and board the bullet train directly.

Three stations will become centers of commercial activities
Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Sabarmati stations will be made hubs of commercial activities. A big passenger terminal will be built at Sabarmati station. Two metro stations are proposed here. There will be a multi-modal transport system for railway, metro and road transport. Platform 11-12 will be redeveloped at Ahmedabad (Saraspur). Here also an integrated transport system will be implemented for metro, rail and bullet train.
