She was bigger than life, and everyone who met her would remember her for a long time. Brianna was pretty, smart, and funny. Brianna was tough, didn’t have any fear, and was one of a kind.

“Losing her at such a young age has left a huge hole in our family, and we know that her teachers and friends will feel the same way.”

Emma Mills, who was the head teacher at Birchwood Community High School, where Brianna went, said that they were doing their best to help students and staff. “When we heard that Brianna had died, we were shocked and very sad. This is, of course, a very hard and sad time for many people, and we will do everything we can to help our students and the school community as a whole.

Detective Chief Superintendent Mike Evans said this week about the case, “At this point, there is no evidence to suggest that Brianna’s death was caused by hate.” Local police patrols have been stepped up, and officers will stay in the Culcheth area to reassure people and deal with any worries they may have.

Robbie De Santos, Director of Communications and External Affairs at Stonewall, the largest LGBT rights organization in Europe, said about the tragic case, “Our thoughts are with Brianna Ghey, a young trans woman, and her loved ones after her tragic murder in Cheshire. We urge anyone who might have information that will help the police with their investigation to come forward.”

Friends of Brianna’s family, Jacob, and Victoria Potter, set up a verified GoFundMe page in her honor and to help her family. It has already raised more than £85,000. The Potters describe Brianna on the page as “an outgoing, confident girl” who “brought a lot of laughter to those who knew her. She was looking forward to taking her exams this year and starting her journey into the adult world.
