Who is Bobby Hull?
One of the finest players in history was the former ice hockey star, Bobby Hull. Bobby Hull was born in the Canadian town of Pointe Anne, Ontario. As a teenager, he became known for playing hockey. At the 1955 Sutherland Cup, he led his Junior B team, the Woodstock Warriors, to an unexpected win. When he was 18, he started playing for the Chicago Black Hawks in the NHL. As a professional player, he stood out quickly, and by his third season, he led the league in goals and points.
In 1966, he was the first player to score more than 50 goals in a single season. His slapshot was timed at 95 miles per hour. In 1972, he left the NHL to play for the Winnipeg Jets in the WHA, which was a rival hockey league. He and his former teammate Stan Mikita came up with the idea of bending the blades of hockey sticks. In 1978, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada, and he left his job in 1981.
