Six people were killed and 12 others were injured when a fire broke out at a chemical factory at Akkireddygudem in Andhra Pradesh’s Eluru on Wednesday night. The incident is said to have occurred after the leakage of nitric acid monomethyl. The condition of many of the injured remains critical.
The seriously injured people have been referred to Vijayawada for better treatment. According to locals, there was an explosion in Unit 4 of Porus Industry at around 10 pm, after which a massive fire broke out. At that time about 150 people worked in the factory.
