Asia’s first cafe opened in this Indian city, where HIV positive people work
A first of its kind cafe in Asia has opened in Kolkata, where only HIV positive employees work. It is named ‘Cafe Positive’. The purpose of opening this cafe is to create employment for HIV positive people.
It is very difficult for HIV positive people to find a job. At the same time, there are some organizations and associations which work for the welfare of these people. One such cafe has been opened in Kolkata. The special thing is that all the employees working here are HIV positive. This is the first cafe in Asia to be run by HIV positive staff.

According to Daily Jagran, it has been termed as ‘Cafe Positive’. It aims to create awareness and generate employment for HIV positive people. Cafe Anandghar is run by an NGO. It was founded by Kallol Ghosh. This NGO works for children with disabilities and HIV positive people.
Inspired by Frankfurt’s Cafes
Kallol Ghosh says he was inspired by a cafe in Frankfurt that is run entirely by HIV-positive people. Where is this cafe open? This place is famous for coffee and sandwiches. Mostly the crowd of employed people and college students is being seen.
plan to open 30 cafes
Ghosh says he plans to open 30 such cafes in India. In such a situation, he has shortlisted 800 people for training. He says he was initially afraid that the cafe would not function when it opened. However, now people have started coming. When they learn that the people working here are HIV positive, some stop and some stay.
