Arrival of Megharaja in South Gujarat and Saurashtra, 4 women and 2 cattle died due to lightning

Monsoon, which has been stalled in Karnataka for the last one week, has reached Gujarat. Under its influence, Saurashtra and some districts of South Gujarat have witnessed the rainy season. Rain has been recorded in 91 taluks of the state in the last 24 hours. The highest rainfall occurs in Santrampur taluka of Mahisagar district.

It has been raining in the state for the last two days. Santrampur taluka recorded the highest rainfall of 75 mm in the last 24 hours. However, many talukas including Saurashtra and talukas Umargam, Kaprada, Dharampur, Kadana also received 22 to 50 mm of rain. As far as Saurashtra is concerned, Jamjodhpur Khambhalia and Lalpur taluks also received heavy rains.

As far as North Gujarat is concerned, it has witnessed rainy weather since late Saturday night. Rain showers were recorded in many taluks during the night. Wadali in Sabarkantha recorded the highest rainfall of 40 mm or one and a half inches. Apart from this, Vijayanagar also received one inch of rain.

Though not a single drop of rain fell in Talod taluka for the whole day on Sunday, but in the evening the weather changed and it started raining with strong winds and thunderstorms. In which one inch of rain fell between six and eight o’clock. Mehsana Patan Banaskantha also received heavy rains.

In Rajkot district of Saurashtra also, Meghraj performed Padramani for the third consecutive day. The highest rainfall was recorded in Gondal district. After the unbearable storm during the day, the weather took a turn in the evening and there was heavy rain with thunder and lightning. One and a half inches of rain was recorded in Sultanpur, Nani and Moti Sakhpar of Gondal. In Rajkot too, there was light rain in areas including two hundred feet Ring Road, Jamnagar Road, Kalavad Road, Morbi Road, due to which the atmosphere became cold.

However, six people, including four women, died as soon as the rains started. In which a woman died due to lightning in Jikiyari of Morbi, Amli in Narmada district and Gothibara village of Santrampur. Apart from this, two animals died after a tree fell due to lightning.
