A team of North Delhi Cyber Cell Police has arrested an accused in a fraud case. He is accused of selling cheap spare parts to people and luring them to cheat. The police team has recovered six mobile phones, one laptop and eight debit cards from the accused.
The DCP of the northern district said that a businessman resident of Kashmere Gate had lodged a complaint on the cyber portal of the Ministry of Home Affairs. He said a person by the name contacted him over the phone. He sent her a visiting card, a challan receipt and a courier receipt and demanded to deposit Rs 10,000 in her account.
Acting on the basis of the complaint, the police team arrested the accused. While the police team of his other accomplice Viresh is searching. The accused told the police that he used to call people and talk about supplying cheap spare parts. People used to go crazy about him and he used to sell fake parts.
The accused is currently in police custody, while another accomplice is being searched by the police team. Police is also trying to find out how many people the accused have cheated so far.
