Although liquor is banned in Gujarat, but liquor is often found in large quantities in different cities of the state. There is no open sale of liquor in the state. However, in cities around the state where alcohol is not banned, there are frequent police checks. Recently one such incident in Valsad has become the subject of discussion.
A few days back Pardi police was checking a vehicle in Valsad. Five foreign girls and a large quantity of foreign liquor have been recovered from an Eco car in Teva. The police have started action by seizing the liquor by taking the girls into custody. During investigation, it was found that a large quantity of liquor was being brought from Daman.
Five foreign girls, including the driver and cleaner, were in the Eco car. A bottle of foreign liquor was found from the purse of five girls. During interrogation, it was found that the girls were from Thailand and the girls were brought to Daman by a driver from Surat and a sweeper from Bharuch in a hired car. Liquor worth Rs 40,000 has been recovered from the girls.
Originally from Thailand, the girls had come to Surat, from where they hired an eco-car and left for Daman. When the girls were returning to Daman with the driver cleaner, he used to keep alcohol with him. Police have arrested five girls from Thailand by registering an offense under the provisions of the Province Act.
