covid-booster dosage

From Sunday i.e. today, all adults in the country are eligible to take a dose of booster vaccine against Kovid-19. The central government had made the announcement earlier this week. This announcement was made amidst new cases of corona virus in India. Earlier only health workers, frontline workers and people above 60 years of age were eligible for the third dose.
We would like to inform you that the COVID-19 precautionary dose (booster dose) will be available to all adults at private immunization centres. Meanwhile, the government’s free vaccination campaign will continue at government centers. Here a booster dose will be given to the elderly, frontline workers and health workers taking the first and second doses.

Which vaccine in booster dose?
For the booster dose, you will receive the same vaccine as your first and second doses. For example, if you have been given Covishield at the time of your first and second doses, you will also be given a booster dose of Covishield.
How much does this cost?
Except healthcare workers, frontline workers and the elderly, everyone else will have to pay for the COVID-19 precautionary dose. It will be given at private immunization centers. It was announced on Saturday that Covacin supplements from Serum Institutes of India’s Covishield and Bharat Biotech’s Covacin now cost Rs. would be 225. Earlier it was Rs. 600 and Rs. 1,200 per dose.

how to Book
The Union government on Saturday clarified that vaccine beneficiaries need not re-register on the CoWIN portal for the precautionary dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. The Union Health Secretary said that all the beneficiaries are already registered on CoWIN.
To book your COVID-19 Precautionary Dose slot, all you need to do is login to the CoWIN portal with your already registered mobile number. The slot should be booked in the same way as it was on the first and second doses. You can choose your nearest vaccination center and book a convenient date and time on the portal. You can opt for walk-in registration instead of booking slots online in advance. But make sure you qualify for the first dose of caution.
